Hi! We are Project Digifence. Similarly to our previous blog post, here are three more campaigns in Singapore aimed at improving media literacy in the general public. As always, this list is not exhaustive and we encourage you to do further research too! What are some campaigns that we have not mentioned here?

1. EYEYAH! Internet Issue Interactive

You may or may not have heard of EYEYAH! so here's a bit of an introduction. Its founders, Tanya Wilson and Steve Lawler created the concept of EYEYAH! to teach children about social issues such as internet safety using creativity. It is an educational platform that uses eye-catching artworks and illustrations to create engaging learning materials for children. However, the colourful and interesting illustrations definitely will catch the eye of teenagers and adults too!

The digital and interactive version of The Internet Issue of EYEYAH! is in an application form and can be used as a tool to engage children in a conversation about Internet safety. The application is available through the App Store offered as a tool to engage children in a visual conversation about the internet and some of its dangers. The Internet issue explores the fun and dark sides of the internet, touching on subjects like cookies, online strangers, technology addiction, social media behaviours and more, through popping illustrations and puzzles.

Here's one of the animations in the application!

There are many more mind-blowing illustrations and fascinating animations on their YouTube Page so definitely check them out!

2. Something's Phishy

Students from Nanyang Technological University’s Wee Kim Wee School of Communications and Information, created an integrated marketing campaign that seeks to address the increasingly common cyber threat of phishing. The campaign educates youth (between 18-25) about current phishing trends and increases response efficacy to threats of cybercrime.

Although this campaign has ended, there are still many useful resources on their social media pages that you can learn from. With awesome fish-themed illustrations and FINtastic puns, they make learning about phishing to a whole new level of fun.

Give their social media platforms a visit, they will surely not disappoint.

3. Media-Wise: A Smart Guide for Youths

This Smart Guide is made by Media Literacy Council. Alright, so this one does not have many illustrations and is quite wordy. But we found the information to be concise and relevant to us. This smart guide touches on topics such as Online Safety, Geotagging, Critical Thinking skills online, Fake News and how to identity them and so much more!

Take some time to sit down and read this guide, maybe you'll learn something new!
